Tan Lijie(Shenzhen)
Tan Lijie (b. 1991, Shenzhen, China) studied at Intermedia College at China Academy of Art from 2010 to 2017 and received her Master of Fine Arts degree in 2017. In 2015, as an exchange student, she went to Kingston University to study at the Art and Design College in London. Now, she lives and works in Shenzhen.
As a visual artist, Tan Lijie combines the reality of images and thoughts on the present from her unique perspective. She uses animals, plants, dreams, and symbols to reflect, creating suspended moments through images. She has a long-term focus on areas in our society that are perennially shrouded in fog, contemplating the inseparable appendages in the rapidly developing masculine-dominated society.
Recent solo exhibitions include "Forgetting her, like a forgotten flower", Arbre Art Space, Shenzhen, China (2023), "Bougainvillea", Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, China (2022). Recent major group exhibitions include "Freeland around the Second Line, Hive (Shenzhen) Contemporary Art in 2019", Shenzhen, China (2019); "Return-Mix Media Group Exhibition", Arbre Art Centre, Shenzhen, China (2019), "2019 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/ Architecture Sub-Venues: City of Steams", Yantian Integrated Free Trade Zone Shatoujiao Area, Shenzhen, China; "Dark Superimpose", M Art Center, Shanghai, China (2017).
