Dali Chen was born in Guangdong. She graduated with a master’s degree from University of the Arts London-Camberwell College of Arts in 2015. She currently lives and works in Shenzhen.

In the world of quantum physics, everything is a hypothesis and then proven; under such a law, although no one has actually seen the electron for the time being, it cannot be ruled out that the electron does exist, and it is a kind of creation to look for a brand-new angle to capture the electron. At this time, Dali Chen thinks painting is like electrons in physics, most people always try to capture it, try to express it, or even define it, but is this painting? She is constantly searching for something, don't know what it is, but she keeps on searching, maybe slow and stupid, but explorations little by little it suits herself.

Dali Chen used to be extremely obsessed with abstraction, logical forms and ways of seeing in philosophy. She always tries to find how to express feelings that transcend all material realities. She supposed to compress dualism into a two-dimensional plane, but also place her full imagination in a three-dimensional slice. But now Dali Chen is moving in the opposite direction with abstraction on her back, re-exploring vague figures, images and symbols, while turning her back on her intuition (an instinctive intuition, which was the first form of expression that she obeyed in the past) , detachment, dissection, retrospection, reconstruction, and cycling; through many years of meditation, she was often in the "counter-intuitive" training, and she internally resets and redefines all the civilizations, boundaries, emotions and beliefs that have happened to her. Disenchant the beliefs and limitations involved in the past thirty years, and create a resetting state. There is no doubt that this Becoming State is the best artwork she has created so far which her paintings cannot compare to. Of course, she is so happy with painting as a way of existence that it is worth pursuing for a long time.
