Born in 1996 in Wuhan, Fang Yang graduated from Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts in 2018, and now lives and works in Shanghai. His multidisciplinary practice spans CGI, installation, and sculpture. He examines the entangled relations between labor culture, youth culture, and social stratification, alongside the multi-dimensional psychological dynamics shaped by these structures. His work seeks to construct an aesthetic field that challenges established orders.

Fang also co-runs the online curatorial platform Slime Engine with artists Li Hanwei and Liu Shuzhen.
