Song Ziwei studied at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM). She has lived and worked in Beijing since 2018. Many of her works draw inspiration from everyday life. She meditates on the contradictions and interdependence between individuals and their living spaces.

The exhibitions she organized and participated in include: Vortex of Order: Song Ziwei (The Moment Art Space), Trapping Fever (ShanghART Gallery, West Bund Central in Shanghai), Please Come up to 2F, Then 3F (LongSpace), G.I.F. (Gravity Art Museum), Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2025, Troubled Intention Ahead: Confusing Public and Private (the 3rd Beijing Photo Biennial), the 1st Border-less Art Season (Fei Arts), Body and Lens: Hong Kong International Movement-image Festival.
