Wu Dandan lives and works in Dongguan, Guangdong. She graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a BA in 2010 and an MA in 2013. Her practice mainly focuses on image-based artistic creation. She has won major awards such as TOP 20 Emerging Photographers of 2015 Chinese Contemporary Photography, and Taikoo Li Sanlitun Young Artists Award. The recent exhibitions she has participated in include: Impersonating Myself/Becoming Myself (Qingdao YellowBox Art Museum in 2024, Shanghai Himalayas Museum and ShanghaiTech University in 2021), All in the World Gold Digging (YP Space), the 2nd Changjiang International Photography and Video Biennale (Changjiang Museum of Contemporary Art, Chongqing), Notes on Crisis, Currency and Consumption (Gallery Raum mit Licht, Vienna).
