Born in Fengshun County, Guangdong in 1973, Feng Xiaorui moved to Shenzhen with his parents in 1985. He serves as Vice President of Shenzhen Young Artists Association, a member of the Education Committee of the Shenzhen Artists Association, and Deputy Director of Luohu Art Museum. He is recognized as one of Shenzhen's earliest contemporary artists and curators.

In 2000, he curated and exhibited in Closer to the Moon, a Shenzhen local contemporary art exhibition that caused a sensation and exerted profound influence on the city's artistic development. Later, while serving at Luohu Art Museum, he curated significant exhibitions for avant-garde artists such as Tang Song and Zhao Shaoruo, and participated in numerous domestic and international group exhibitions, including the Shenzhen Biennale of Contemporary Art, Un Viaggio tra l'Oriente e l'Occidente: Mostra Collettiva degli Artisti Italiani e Cinesi, Isomorphism: European Tour Contemporary Art Exhibition, and Inquiry: Abstraction in China 2023-2024. His works are held in the permanent collections of various museums and art institutions.
