Born in Guangdong in 1981, Han Jianyu graduated from the Fourth Studio of the Oil Painting Department, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) with a BA in 2006 and an MA in 2009. He was a visiting scholar at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France in 2016, and at Sun Yat-sen University in 2020. He is currently an associate professor and master's supervisor of the Oil Painting Department of GAFA, and Director of the Fourth Studio.
