Yao Mingfeng (b.1988, Heilongjiang, China) currently lives and works in Beijing and Shenzhen. He received his MFA in Studio Art from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and his BFA in Sculpture from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.

As a conceptual and visual artist, His practice is grounded in a sustained observation and investigation of everyday phenomena. Through subtle and deliberate interventions, he abstracts and visualizes elements drawn from daily life, seeking to transform individual perceptions into a form of collective visual narrative. His methodology often involves acts of "sampling" and "appropriation", collecting symbols and images from reality and reconfiguring them through diverse media including painting, photography, and installation. In recent years, his research has focused on the relationships between technology and perception, authenticity and simulation, geopolitics and landscape—examining how these conditions are constructed and represented within contemporary contexts.
